The Planeteq Bio-Digester uses micro-organisms to break down food waste into an environmentally-safe liquid. It is installed on-site and works quietly behind the scenes, consuming food waste which would otherwise need to be transported to a landfill or food waste processing plant.

How it works

On site where the food waste is generated

Food waste is loaded into the bio-digester throughout the day

Bio-digester is loaded with enzyme-producing microorganisms that can break down molecular compounds

Microorganisms break down the food waste which is eventually transformed into a liquid

Resulting liquid is transported via existing plumbing infrastructure for wastewater treatment

At the water treatment plant

Bio-energy powers water treatment plant and sends electricity to the grid

Bio-solids (fertilizer) used in agriculture

Clean water returned to rivers and streams
